A BIRD'S-EYE VIEW OF OPERATION ANTIOCH
Operation Antioch is a program for the whole church designed to energize Christians about evangelism and sharpen their awareness of opportunities to demonstrate the gospel’s power in their everyday lives. The program involves several distinct strategies:
1. A five-week Bible study of the first thirteen chapters of Acts, read with a focus on discerning the evangelistic practices of the early church (Operation Antioch Leader's Guide). Supplemental reading for this study is Holy Boldness by Paul R. Dekar. The Operation Antioch CD-ROM includes worksheets and optional PowerPoint slides for use during the sessions.
2. A weekly worship emphasis paralleling the Bible study themes. Sermon and worship helps are included on the Operation Antioch CD-ROM.
3. A Mission Blitz on the last Saturday of Operation Antioch. The purpose of the Mission Blitz is to engage the church in a variety of simple hands-on mission or service projects. Find planning and implementation suggestions on the Operation Antioch CD-ROM.
4. A Celebration Feast on the last Sunday of Operation Antioch. This is an opportunity to celebrate the Mission Blitz and the conclusion of the Operation Antioch program. Furthermore, it is a mission event on its own, since it involves welcoming the local neighborhood into the church for a free meal. Find planning and implementation suggestions on the Operation Antioch CD-ROM.
