Featured in new Lectionary-based
Worship Planning Resource

MACON, Georgia – May 15, 2006 – Smyth & Helwys has launched an online lectionary-based worship planning site that highlights sermons from prominent pastors and preachers. Smyth & Helwys Worship is free, and can be found at www.helwys.com/worship. The service was formerly available only by subscription as NextSunday Worship.

For each Sunday, Smyth & Helwys Worship offers sample sermons along with a collection of suggestions for related hymns, anthems, and solo pieces. The site also connects with a searchable database of additional sermons and sermon illustrations, and is linked with a substantial collection of Bible-land photos.

Sermons have been written by a a wide variety of well-known ministers, including John Adams, Carlton Allen, Chuck Bugg, Al Cadenhead, Michael Catlett, Dorisanne Cooper, Jim Dant, Amy Dean, George Mason, Rob Nash, Chuck Poole, John Roy, Guy Sayles, Malcolm Tolbert, Tonya Vickery, Brent Walker, Brett Younger and many others.

Retired Furman University chaplain Dr. Jim Pitts and Professor of Religion Emeritus is the editor for Smyth & Helwys Worship, with music resource suggestions provided by Dr. Glen Atkins, who serves as the Minister of Music and Worship at First Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
