Local church offers creative way to involve children in missions

(Local Church Press Release)

(Your church name here) will offer a Vacation Bible School called A Heart for Missions, with creative activities for ages 3-4 years through 6th grade, on (dates here) from (beginning time here) to (ending time here) each (select one: day/evening). The Vacation Bible School program will be conducted at (location here). Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Call (church telephone number here) for pre-registration and more VBS information.

The Vacation Bible School takes a creative approach to a traditional theme, missions. A Heart for Missions helps children learn from biblical examples of missions, help them identify the needs of their own community, and involves them in a hands-on experience of missions. Children don't just learn about missions, but actually engage in missions.

Through the program, children discover that they can be a part of missions today. For example, children create craft items designed to be useful to people in nursing homes, hospitals, and other places of care. Children gain confidence in their ability to help others in Christ's name by giving away these craft items.

The church is transformed into a learning hospital, in which children assume the role of medical interns and are divided into groups representing different hospitals. It features interesting areas such as Lab Work (crafts), X-Ray (Bible activities), and Ear, Nose, & Throat (music), among others.

A Heart for Missions is published by Smyth & Helwys, best known for their popular program: Under Construction, A Habitat for Humanity VBS.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged to ensure your child’s place in this terrific Vacation Bible School. For pre-registration and additional Vacation Bible School information call (VBS point of contact at your church) at (church telephone number here).
